Project Guidelines

NEST is delighted to announce, with the generous support of Professor Emeritus Bob Sievers, a new fellowship to attend the MARBLE/marble Symposium in Summer of 2020. Fellows will receive registration funding and $300 travel stipend to the premier stone carving 8-day workshop located in scenic Marble, Colorado.

Established in 1989, the MARBLE/marble Symposium has a collaborative team of world-class instructors set within a pristine natural environment.

First cohort included Alejandra Abad, and Gwendolyn Hill from Art & Art History.


This fellowship is open to all CU Boulder faculty and students, regardless of their department or major, and is open to both graduate and undergraduate students.

Proposal Requirements

To apply, please submit a one-page description to nest@colorado.edu by TBD detailing how this unique opportunity would impact your arts practice, your arts career, and/or enliven your artistic curiosity for those new to stone carving. Additionally, please indicate which of the three sessions below you can attend, and confirm your availability for attending all eight days of the symposium.

2nd Session JULY 15 – 22, 2019
3rd Session JULY 29 – AUG 5, 2019
